I’m with Hari completely. Reprints of Guardian and Independent articles on the op-ed pages of Indian papers were a highlight when I was growing up and it never ceases to annoy how often Indian liberals lose their love of liberty when it clashes with the need to accommodate diversity. The affair of the Bangladeshi exile writer Taslima Nasreen is another case in point; it was a shameful day when the fundies managed to force her to move from Calcutta to Paris.
